SaaS security posture management

Most small businesses now run on a handful of SaaS apps: Microsoft 365 for mail and documents, Salesforce for customers, Jira and Confluence for the work, Slack for everything in between. Each one has its own users, its own admins and its own settings, and each one was set up by whoever needed it at the time. Nobody looks at them all together, so nobody notices what has drifted.

That drift is where the risk sits. An account belonging to someone who left last year and was removed from the identity provider, but not from Salesforce. A contractor who was given admin rights for a migration and kept them. A guest in Slack nobody recognises. A licence still being paid for on a mailbox nobody has opened in six months. Multi-factor authentication switched on for most people, but not for the shared account that matters most. None of it is a breach yet. All of it is how breaches usually start.

SaaS security posture management, SSPM for short, watches for exactly this. We connect your apps through their own APIs, with read-only access and nothing to install, and check them continuously for forgotten and inactive accounts, leavers who still have access, people who were only half onboarded, excessive admin rights, external and guest users, and settings that have been weakened. It covers Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), Slack and a number of other common business apps. If yours is not on that list, ask, and we will tell you plainly whether it is covered.

The first sweep is usually the most revealing, so we work through it with you rather than send you a report. After that it runs on its own: when something changes, the alert reaches the person who can do something about it, with what was found, why it matters and how to fix it. You also get the record of it, which is the evidence a customer security questionnaire, an insurer or an auditor will ask for.

It is a natural complement to security automation. SSPM tells you where on- and offboarding has gone wrong across your SaaS apps; security automation fixes the process, so access starts on someone’s first day and ends on their last, everywhere. Many clients start with the monitoring, because it shows exactly which processes are worth automating first.

What you get

  • Your SaaS apps connected through read-only API access, with nothing to install
  • Forgotten, inactive and orphaned accounts found across every connected app
  • Leavers who still have access, and joiners who were only half set up
  • Admin rights, guest users and missing multi-factor authentication flagged
  • Risky settings caught when they change, not at the next audit
  • The findings that matter, explained in plain language with the fix
